Reproduction of 1790 Dutch Corner Cabinet.
The contrasting wood colors and eclectic carving attracted me to this cabinet design. It is roughly based on an original which I saw while traveling in South Africa, made by a dutch woodworker in 1790.
Made with cocobolo, maple, and walnut wood. Traditional joinery including mortise and tenon construction, and hardware made from brass, were used to stay authentic to what was available in the late 18th century. It comes with a booklet describing the original corner cabinet in detail including pictures and rough dimensions.
